Warsaw, 16 May 2016 – The Concept Tower office building in Warsaw has been recognized with LEED Gold certification. As a result, it is the first office project in Poland to obtain both LEED and BREEAM certificates. Advisory firm JLL was responsible for conducting both certifications for the scheme.
LEED and BREEAM are two of the most well-known certification systems providing coherent and clear criteria for real estate evaluation in terms of a building's impact on the environment. Obtaining both LEED and BREEAM certifications by Concept Tower illustrates the scheme’s ecological character with respect to materials and technical solutions used during its development. The building’s certification analyzed numerous areas including its design and contracting as well as aspects related to the scheme’s use.
Regina Gul, LEED AP, BREEAM Assessor, BREEAM In-Use Auditor, Senior Project Manager at JLL, comments: “Concept Tower is a modern office building designed and developed with the use of solutions minimizing its impact on the environment. The building's energy consumption has been reduced thanks to the windows and elevation possessing high thermal isolation qualities as well as modern air-conditioning systems. Furthermore, both local and recycled materials were used during its development. Concept Tower is the first office building in Poland to attain both LEED Gold and BREEAM certifications.”
Exemplary pro-ecological solutions applied in Concept Tower include eco-friendly fixtures and sanitary facilities, energy-efficient air-conditioning and ventilation systems, finishing materials with a low level of volatile organic compounds, a glass façade that provides natural daylight as well as water efficient greenery. Furthermore, the building also provides bicycle racks.
Concept Tower is located at Grzybowska Street in close proximity to the Rondo Daszyńskiego roundabout. Employees working in the building and their guests are well-served by public transportation and road networks enabling quick and swift communication to other districts of Warsaw as well as the city’s airport. The building offers approx. 8,500 sq m of modern, high-quality office, which currently is fully leased.
