For years there have been discussions about the construction of a skyscraper at Zawiszy Square. On January 12th the city council of Warsaw adopted a local plan for Zawiszy Square, which allows for the construction of a high-rise building and a linear park, as well as a new section of the southern roadway of Aleje Jerozolimskie.
The concept of the planned investment will be multifunctional. In addition to office space, the building will also offer retail and service areas. It is estimated that Sobieski Tower will be a cascading skyscraper with a height of 130 meters at the highest point, the intermediate part will be 89 meters, and the lowest part - 36 meters.
The adoption of the Zawiszy Square plan by the city may be a turning point in the investment, as the earlier version of the office building was not approved. After the first analysis of the project in 2006, the town hall issued the zoning conditions for the construction of a building 30 meters lower. It is worth noting, however, that the final fate of the investment is not yet known, but the decision of the Warsaw Council increases the chances for the construction of the high-rise building.
