Ultramodern and energy-efficient Warsaw UNIT
With 46 stories and 202 meters high, Warsaw UNIT is the most environmentally friendly and technologically advanced skyscraper in Poland, perfectly in line with the ESG strategy of Ghelamco and its tenants. The building was the first in the country to receive WELL Core certification at the Platinum level and the first high-rise to earn a BREEAM certificate with the highest possible Outstanding rating. Its sustainability is also confirmed by certification in the WELL Health-Safety Rating, WELL v2 (pre-certification), Green Standard Building and “Barrier-Free Facility” systems.
The energy-efficient and low-emissions nature of Warsaw UNIT is ensured daily by more than 40,000 sensors and 800 meters as part of a state-of-the-art BEMS system. Thanks to this and a number of other solutions, energy consumption in Warsaw UNIT is nearly 30% lower than in comparable high-rise buildings. Warsaw UNIT will also be the first skyscraper in Poland to be powered in 100 percent by clean energy. This comes after Ghelamco announced a groundbreaking project to build its own photovoltaic farms.
Warsaw UNIT features Ghelamco’s proprietary Signal OS operating system with its own application, which gives tenants and managers many options, including active participation in the process of sustainable management of utilities. The office building also uses anti-pandemic solutions, including virucidal UV lamps in lifts and ventilation systems.
Ghelamco’s project stands out with its elegant, timeless architecture and original solutions, such as the kinetic “dragon skin” facade waving in the wind, or Skyfall Warsaw – a sky-high, fully glazed observation deck with a falling floor, providing an unforgettable experience to the guests.
