Real estate sector steps in to support the biggest single-purpose hospital in Warsaw

One hundred patients, suffering from the coronavirus, are currently hospitalized in the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration in Warsaw. A few weeks ago, the hospital was transformed into the largest single-purpose infectious disease hospital in the capital. To deal with the virus, it needs funds in order to purchase additional life-saving equipment, as well as to purchase a personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff. We can all help by joining the "Real estate for real-life heroes" campaign, which has been set up by JLL.

"There are currently a hundred patients, suffering from SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which are being treated in our hospital. The patients are being looked after by a multi-specialist team of 400, which also receives several dozen people a day who have coronavirus-type symptoms. Our employees need nearly a thousand FFP3 masks a day. In addition, we must secure additional respirators, cardio monitors and devices for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. This is very expensive equipment, and without it we will not be able to effectively fight for the lives of the most seriously ill people when the number of patients increases" - comments Iwona Sołtys, Patient Department Manager, Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration in Warsaw.

The Warsaw facility’s needs are why the "Real estate for real-life heroes" campaign was launched in April. So far, BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland, BPI Real Estate Poland, Cushman & Wakefield, Dentons, Dom Development, HB Reavis, Knight Frank, KR Group, Metro Properties, NEPI Rockcastle, Panattoni, Penteris, Savills, SEGRO and Linkleaders, have decided to join the initiative and make a donation. Both companies and individual donors who would like to support the hospital can still do so. Every donation really does make a difference.

This initiative comes from the JLL team who, despite the lockdown, would like to actively support doctors and nurses operating every day on the frontlines of the fight against the pandemic. This campaign is aimed at the entire real estate industry, especially since the sector has repeatedly proved its readiness to come together for a worthy cause. A great example of the sector’s willingness to join forces is the annual Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament. Of course, you don’t have to be part of the industry in order to help – all are invited, both companies and individuals donors. Every penny counts.
