Jones Lang LaSalle to offer BREEAM In-Use Certification

Warsaw, May 8, 2013 – Jones Lang LaSalle has expanded its sustainability services portfolio. The company, which provides comprehensive real estate advisory services, will begin conducting the BREEAM In-Use certification process for existing retail, office and industrial buildings as well as institutions.

Green building certification is a way in which companies can demonstrate their commitment to bringing sustainability into investment projects.

Regina Gul, LEED AP BD+C, BREEAM Assessor, BREEAM In-Use Auditor, Senior Project Manager, Project & Development Services, Jones Lang LaSalle, commented: "In response to growing demand from the real estate market for the improved performance of existing buildings, our Project and Development Services team is now able to offer BREEAM In-Use certification services. This certification scheme enables us to certify all types of commercial buildings. As a result, our team now provides a full spectrum of certification services for existing buildings as well as those in the construction and or planning phases."

The two most well-known and popular green certification systems are LEED and BREEAM, which both have the goal of standardizing assessments of green buildings worldwide. Factors such as i.e. energy and water use, carbon emission as well as application of eco-friendly solutions and materials are all analysed in the certification process. The majority of certification methods also have options to improve and certify sustainable improvements for existing buildings in operation, such as BREEAM In-Use and LEED EB:OM Jones Lang LaSalle supports the certification process for both these systems.
