Built in 1997, the Ilmet skyscraper was one of the icons of Warsaw skyscrapers, mostly due to the Mercedes logo located on its top. However, the 83-meter-high skyscraper had been standing empty for a long time and now it is gradually disappearing from the map of the capital.
So far, the demolition works took place only inside the building, but this year the reconstruction will also concern the outside.
The demolition works are taking place at a fast pace, probably they will be finished this year, and on its place works on the planned approx. 190-meter-high replacement - Warsaw One - will start.
