The first Polish airport town under development in Gdańsk

The cornerstone for the first of the seven office buildings planned within Airport City Gdańsk (ACG) was laid at the end of June. When completed, the entire complex will provide over 120,000 sqm of space as well as incorporating plans for a hotel to be built there in the future. The contractor for the entire development, the value of which is estimated at 66 million PLN, is HOCHTIEF Polska. JLL is the exclusive agent responsible for the commercialization process.

The six-floor Alpha building, with a leasable area totaling approx. 8,500 sqm of space, will be delivered to market by mid-2021. The plans for the first phase of the investment also provide for a two-floor underground car park for almost 200 vehicles (including electric car charging stations).

ACG, which is being developed in the immediate vicinity of the Gdańsk airport terminal, is the first investment of its type in Poland. The complex will include modern office buildings offering space for retail, service activities, and catering facilities on the ground floors. The entire project will be surrounded by landscaped greenery, and recreational areas allowing the tenants to exercise. Once completed, Airport City Gdańsk will comprise a modern and attractive part of the city which, thanks to the great potential stemming from its excellent location in close proximity to the airport, will attract tenants from both local and international companies.

Airport City Gdańsk is a unique project in Poland. We were inspired by the best airports worldwide, such as those in Dusseldorf, Zurich, Munich, Frankfurt, and Paris. No airport in Poland has ever completed such a project thus far, and we – apart from paving the way – can also diversify our revenue. Today we are 100% dependent on the changing economic situation on the air services market, and the COVID-19 pandemic has very much verified our situation. The ACG will serve as our second pillar in obtaining revenues. We are glad that the investment’s construction is now in full swing”, comments Tomasz Kloskowski, the President of Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport.

This location will have a wide range of catering, commercial, and service premises which will enjoy excellent exposure because of their proximity to the terminal as well as 3 0000 potential customers in the form of airport employees. These factors as well as airline passengers (five million in 2019), an ever-expanding network of direct air connections with dozens of cities throughout Europe, a location well-served by public transport, and the project’s unique location, will all certainly contribute to the success of anyone who decides to open a business at Airport City Gdańsk.

Interest in Airport City Gdańsk project is high and we are convinced that the commercialization process will be fully successful. The advantage of the first building, as well as the entire Airport City Gdańsk, is not only excellent air, road, and rail connections, but also the fact that the tenants are given open space without rigidly imposing the square meterage per employee. In the era of social distancing, this will facilitate more comfortable space planning.
